Whetu Catapult Challenge

The things that I used to make my catapult were: 6 rubber bands, 6 popsicle sticks, 1 spoon.

To make my catapult I worked with Paddy and Cody.

The most challenging part was trying not to break the catapult but we failed.

Our best results were coming 3rd in the height competition.

Overall I think that we did pretty well considering that ours was broken the whole time.

Onomatopoeia.

This is the onomatopoeia worksheet that I completed. The hardest part was filling in the twang sentence because it isn't a noise that I usually hear and the easiest part was doing the sentence with the word that we could decide.

Maths Challenge

This is The maths mystery that I did with Alex. To do this we had to solve a lot of maths questions and after every question, we could cross some off. The culprit at the end was Florence.

Week 7 blog challenge.

This is the emoji that I made up, it is one that is winking and doing a gun symbol with his hands. I made this one because it would be quite handy to use and I know that I would definitely use it. The easiest part was drawing the winking eye and the hardest part was doing the hands.

Week 1 reflection.

My highlight this week has been seeing my friends and playing manhunt with them.

The thing that I was most nervous about was that I might forget something.

For the dress-up day I dressed up as a colour and the colour was blue even my hair and
the shoes that I was wearing were blue.

The funniest thing has happened this week is that there were dolphins in the piako on the
first day of school.

I think the best-dressed person was Seth because he had a massive wig on.

Milk bottle bird feeder

This is the milk bottle bird feeder that I made.

The milk bottle creation I made was a bird feeder.

The hardest part was cutting everything out because the bottle was quite tough.

The easiest part was hot gluing over some of the string and toothpicks.

I enjoyed the whole activity because it was quite fun.

Egg carton art.

These are the turtles that I made from egg cartons, I made four of them. To make them I cut off the lid and cut off four parts where the eggs sit. Then I used the lid to make the legs and head, to make the eyes I used twink and a sharpie to stick everything on I used hot glue.

Skink

This is a skink that Max found while we were going for a walk along the stopbanks. It is really small compared to all of the other ones that we have found so it is probably a baby. We made an enclosure for it inside a container, inside the container we made a water container from a glass jar lid, a fake rock for it to go inside of. It is the same container that we use for the other skinks that we have found. So far we have fed him three ants which we found by the treehouse and a moth which I caught in the bathroom, we also put in a centipede but we don't know if it ate that.

Treehouse making.

Over the last couple of weeks, me and Max have been making a treehouse. We had been up in that tree quite a lot and then we asked dad if we could make a treehouse in it, he said yes. We started by cutting down all of the branches that were in the way which took ages, we used the loppers to cut everything down. We went to RD1 to get a pellet. Dad helped to get the pellet into the tree so it was pretty easy, then we got some support which were some trampoline poles from our old trampoline and we also used some rope. After a few days of adding things, we decided to make another level attached to the fence. This level took way longer to make because it wasn't attached to the tree so we needed a lot more support. After we had finished putting the pellet on the fence we made some sides. We made the sides with two pieces of wood we cut one of the pieces in half and then we nailed them together me and Max ended up making 6 sides. We also made a juping platform out of a small pellet. In the end, we used over 100 nails.

C.C. T2 W4

This is my Chapter chat for this week. I did Art and one of the tasks was to draw Peter's new dog named Turtle, he named it turtle because he got it to replace his Turtle that his little brother fudge swallowed. To draw this I used a drawing book to help me with the shape and all the other parts, I did him in the bow that he came in but I made it so it was covered in wrapping paper. The hardest part was drawing the dog and the easiest part was colouring everything in. I enjoyed doing this activity even though it was hard.

Case Closed
